About Erin

I grew up in Cary, NC and began Erin Boone Photography in high school. Working through my college career while playing DI volleyball at UNC-Chapel Hill, I now live in Charlotte and I'm continuing to do what I love while also learning a lot about commercial banking at my day job uptown.

Things I'll most look forward to when you book a photo session with me:

  • Connecting and having fun with you throughout the session
  • Seeing you get more and more comfortable in front of the camera
  • Capturing your authentic expressions and personal style
  • Framing a photo through the lens finder that makes me think, "Omg that one's a winner. Yes yes yes. Beautiful." (It will happen, and I'll probably say it out loud.)
  • Soaking in the beauty of how the golden hour light settles perfectly on you and everything around you
  • Finishing a project knowing I've captured you in the best light and sending it your way

Every photoshoot is a completely different experience because everyone has a unique personality and story. That's what makes my job so exciting and fulfilling year after year.

How It Works

Pricing

I charge $300 for one-hour sessions and $475 for two hours. Price is only based upon the length of the session (there is no other cost to you, unless you choose to purchase prints). That price includes the hours I spend editing, my camera equipment, and the cost of my editing software and photo storage. If I need to drive more than 45 minutes to the location, I may add a distance fee.

Payment

Most people choose to pay me through Venmo, but I also accept cash and check- I'm working on getting an up-to-date card reader. Payment is due on the day of the shoot.

Location

Location is totally up to you! If you need help thinking of a spot I'm happy to make some suggestions. Being relatively new to Charlotte, I'm excited to hear your ideas and discover new places!

Timing

The most flattering light of the day happens during the two golden hours: right before sunset and right after sunrise. That said, timing depends on the time of year, but I tend to do most of my shoots in the evening. Of course, if you have an event at a different time of day, let me know and we can certainly make that work.

Usually one hour is plenty of time for portraits, but if you want to use multiple locations or change into three+ outfits, I recommend two hours. If you're interested in getting photos for an event that's longer than two hours, we can discuss a rate that works for both of us.

The Photoshoot

One the day of your session, we'll meet up at our agreed time and place. I’m sensitive to all personalities, and whether you're comfortable in front of a camera or not, I'll guide you throughout our time together.

Posed photos can look awkward or goofy if there's not enough attention to detail by the photographer. All you have to do is trust me and you'll look natural and at ease in all your photos. Part of my job is to help you feel comfortable in front of a camera, so we will work together to find poses that feel like you (and get some candid shots too, of course).

Editing Process

My editing process starts with narrowing down photos to only the best of the batch. I then touch up lighting, color, blemishes, and photoshop out distracting background objects when necessary. For a one-hour shoot, I typically deliver 20-30 well-edited images.

Accessing Your Photos

After your session, I'll send you a password-protected link to your digital files, all of which will be yours to download and share. Depending on my workload, it usually takes me about 1-2 weeks to finish, but if you need a faster turnaround please let me know.

If you share photos on social media, I do ask that you tag @erinboonephotography. I rely primarily on word-of-mouth advertising to grow my business, so tagging my account is super helpful and appreciated!

Ordering Prints

You are not required to order prints, but sometimes a high-quality personalized canvas or frame for your wall can help commemorate your special moment. Once you receive your photo album, you will be able to browse the Print Store from your album link and purchase if you're interested.
